IFCP is a 10-day long institute and festival at Mannes College bringing together internationally renowned artists & faculty and gifted students & young professionals who are interested in expanding their knowledge and performance practice of 20th & 21st century music. Accepted participants will benefit from coachings by contemporary music experts in daily workshops, play in conducted large ensembles, as well as perform solo, duo and large chamber works in concerts at Mannes College and other prestigious venues around NYC. Participants have access to rehearsal rooms at Mannes College and optional housing is available at the New School dormitories in downtown NYC.
Ensembles are welcome and may be newly formed or pre-existing. Workshop participation will be planned according to the ensemble’s instrumentation. Solo repertoire coachings & performance of individual members as well as participation in large ensembles will be discussed with each ensemble member and determined after acceptance.
The institute will accept 20-25 participants of all instruments & voice. Applicants are current college students, recent graduates, or young professional musicians.
